Kok Tung at National Service 6.

My previous blog, I mentioned that I have faxed a letter to his camp requesting for Kok Tung to extend his CNY leaves from 12/2/2010 to 19/2/2010 (original leaves 12/2/2010 to 16/2/2010)
Kok Tung call me on Wednesday afternoon that his friend's father went to the Jabatan Latihan Khidmat Negara Head Office in Wangsa Maju and got his leaves extended to the 18/2/2010 (additional 2 days).
Instead of waiting for the approval from Kok Tung's camp which I have faxed the letter for extension, I rewrote the letter and went to the Head Office in Wangsa Maju on Thursday.
When I presented the letter to the service counter, before the officer read my letter she ask me whether I am requesting for extra leaves. "Yes" I told her and she immediately told me that I could only get extra 2 days only.
Well, 2 days extra for Kok Tung is dame good news for him.
He call back this afternoon asking for the news. Hope he is very happy today.
Me and his mum will be visiting him this Sunday and I will pen some lines for your reading on the visit.

Bye for now and cheers.

Kok Tung in National Service 5

Visited Kok Tung at his training camp last Sunday (25/01/2010), reached the camp about 10.30 am, found a nice spot and questions and answers as usual.
He is alright, look fit and tan due to daily marching and outdoor games. The mother cooks for him more pork delicacy ( char yuk), his favourite "siew yuk" and one vegetable menu.
We chat until about 2 pm and I drove to Muadzam Shah Town to buy him some necessities which he requested.
We say our goodbye at about 3 pm and left straight for Pertang where we stay for the night before parting for KL on Monday.
Before we left the camp we got information from the camp management that we can apply for Kok Tung to extend his CNY leaves for another 3 more days that is total from 12/2/2010 to 19/2/2010. I have fax a letter to his Camp Commander to day requesting officially for the extended leaves and hope for the approval within the next few days.

I will blog about the approval as soon as I received it.

Bye and cheers for now.

Kok Tung in National Service 4

Yesterday I drove from Pertang at at about 9 am towards Muadzam Shah to visit Kok Tung at his national Services Camp. This time just me and his mother as Mei Ken has other things to do.
As usual after 1 hr 20 mins, we reach his camp, after the process of registering our self, he came out to the visitor's area and again we took up the same spot as the last time coz we have cooked some food for him.
He looks cool in his uniform and look composed. No complain this time except the extra provision his mother brought for him, as usual the worried mother. So he took whatever his thinks he wanted and we started our usual conversation. He told us that nothing much happening with the training program except some marching and simple exercises.
On Saturday, the camp had installed an Astro TV and he and his friends could kill all their free time watching Astro TV.
His Chinese New Year leaves will starts on the 12th. Feb 2010 till 16th. Feb 2010.
During his leaves in KL, he will have to discipline himself for the duration, do all the planning between his family and friends as he have to report to his camp before 5 pm on the 16th. Feb 2010.
Times do fly by quite fast and I have to plan myself between my work and him.

Hope to pen something for your reading after my next visit (coming Sunday)

Bye and cheers.

Son in National Service 2

As planned, we made a trip this morning to visit Kok Tung at his National Service Camp in Pinggiran Pelangi in Muadzam Shah, Pahang.

Together with his mother and Mei Ken, we started our journey at about 8 in the morning. We drove through Cheras to Ulu Langat, Titi in Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan, Simpang Pertang then to Serting. From Serting, we drove through a very straight road crossing mainly oil palm plantations and with about 78 kms, we reach the T junction of the Segamat - Kuantan Highway. We turn left towards Kuantan and clocking another 25 kms. we reached Muadzam Shah.
Total distance one way from KL is about 210 kms - journey time about 3 hours.

we reached the Camp at about 11 am, registering our self and he was informed of our arrival for the visit. We choose a nice spot under a tree near a lake, collect some plastic chair and started our conversation. As usual for a mother's concerned, many questions was asked and we were all very relief that he was in no stress and that his only problem was food......... ( all hot and spicy) and not enough to eat!!!!

Well, we have prepared some home cooked food and his favourite " Siew Yuk" which we bought in Pertang - still hot. We have our Lunch together and for sure the "Siew Yuk" taste the best.

We stay around until 2 pm and we say good bye. We assure him we will be back with more of his favourite food next week.

We got back to KL with heavy rain and I am dead tired. I will load some pictures of our visit maybe tomorrow and have to sign out now and straight to the bedroom.

Bye for now, Cheers.

Son at National Service

It's third day since Kok Tung went for the National Services Training in Pahang. Surprised that he still has his handphone available to him and he SMS us at about 8 pm. He wrote that things are all right except that the weather is bad (raining since) and having problem getting his clothing dried.

Well, he will have to rough it out for the whole duration.
We will be visiting him this coming weekend bringing along more clothing and his favourite food " Bak Kut Teh or Siew Yuk"

I will try to load up some pictures next week of our visit for your viewing.

Bye and Cheers.
